The Public
Works Department consists of several divisions, including a
water distribution system, wastewater collection system, streets
department and general maintenance department.
The water and wastewater divisions employ superintendents
who are highly trained and certified in their fields. They are required to attend continuing education courses to
maintain their license and to stay abreast of changes/update
that may arise. The
primary responsibility for water and wastewater superintendents
is the daily monitoring and operations of the water and
wastewater systems. The Town
currently has six water wells, five ground storage tanks,
booster pumps, lift stations and a wastewater treatment plant.
In addition to the existing water wells, the Town has
contracted with NTMWD (as a Customer City) to provide future
surface water to supplement the well system.
